Matrix-700: New Box PC series with Linux 3.18.x
The Matrix brand industrial embedded PCs have already been successful on the compact controller market for sophisticated applications for several years. The small boxes, which are specially designed for top hat rail mounting and installation, are ideally suitable for the remote management of machines or devices and modules in building technology and factory automation. Robustness, low energy consumption of less than 3W and the wide input voltage range from 9 to 48 VDC ensure fast and trouble-free use alongside the Linux operating system and the pre-installed file system with several tools and utilities which are already integrated. In addition to both gigabit LAN and 10/100 Mbit LAN connections, the WLAN equipment is optionally available or can be retrofitted via a USB stick. The four serial interfaces can be configured for RS-232 and RS-485. A micro-USB connection serves as a console port which can be addressed from a host computer as a virtual COM port. A genuine serial console port is accessible inside the device. A USB 2.0 socket rounds off the interface range. The MicroSD socket on the rear side supports SDHC (SD 2.0).
As for all Matrix models, a comprehensive software portfolio is available on the website as a free download. Customer applications which already exist can easily be migrated to the new model.
The robust casing with its dimensions of 78 × 108 × 24 mm is manufactured exclusively using metal. The admissible ambient temperature for operation is defined with 0 to 70 °C.
