POC-200: Ultra-compact IPC with one gigabit PoE and USB 3.0

The new ultra-compact and fanless POC-200 series industry PCs from Acceed are based on the Intel quad core Atom processor E3845 with 1.91 GHz and have two gigabit PoE interfaces, three USB 3.0 ports and an array of standard serial and digital interfaces. Small, powerful and designed for temperatures of up to 70°C, the POC-200 presents itself as an ideal embedded controller for space-critical applications in industrial surroundings, in building automation, for security applications and mobile use.

The fanless POC-200 series box computer have approximately the dimensions of a 3.5” hard drive and are equipped with the Atom processor E3845 from Intel with 1.91 GHz. Its working memory can be upgraded to 8GB.

The compact design of the full metal housing consisting of a resistant aluminium alloy together with the two PoE gigabit connections (up to 50W) is perfect for security applications with IP cameras and further applications with IP-based Smart devices. The high data transfer rate supports secure high resolution video streaming, image analysis in video monitoring and machine vision applications with GigE cameras, for example for production control or robot control.

Four USB connections of which three are with USB 3.0 and four serial (RS-232/422/485) connections provide high flexibility for data communication with devices, sensors and actors. A DVI-I connection and an audio output round-off the generous configuration options. A mini PCIe socket with a USIM slot for communication in the mobile communications network can be found within the housing on the PCB.

The POC-200 series embedded PCs can be operated at an ambient temperature range from -25°C to +70 °C with an installed SSD and 100% CPU load. The special aluminium alloy and the design using elaborate heat conduction technology also enable installation on narrow and poorly ventilated channels, switch boxes or weather-protected housing. Its flexible supply voltage from 8 to 35 VDC extends its range of use to mobile applications, for example in buses, transport or rail vehicles.
