At first, download the following files from our website www.acceed.com : http://www.acceed.de/download/rayon/gport104_051202.hg (latest firmware) http://www.acceed.de/download/rayon/wtftp8.exe (program to transfer firmware to GPort) After that, connect the ethernet interface of your PC with the "WAN" port of your GPort (use a normal RJ45 cable, NOT a crossover cable). Set your computerīs IP to 192.168.1.111, otherwise the transfer wonīt work! Then connect the GPortīs "Console" port with your computerīs COM-interface (for example COM1), using the RJ45-to-DB9 cable which was shipped with your GPort. Open a terminal program (e.g. HyperTerminal), and establish a connection to the COM port (115200 baud, 8-N-1, no flow control). You will see the console output of the GPort in the terminal window after restarting the GPort (see next step!). Note: You can skip this step, but we recommend not to do so, as the only way to find out if the firmware upgrade works is to check the console output. Press and hold the RESET button on your GPort using a thin screwdriver or a paper clip. The button sits quite deep inside the case, so be sure you really press it ;) Restart the GPort by pulling of and reconnecting the power chord. Do not release the reset button until the console output says "Entering Wait HG Command Mode". If "LAN initialize complete" appears in the terminal, open wtfp8.exe. Choose the firmware file (gport104_051202.hg) and click "Transmit". If the firmware was transmitted correctly, you will see some console output. After a few minutes, the console output should look like that: Kernel update complete ^_^ done done You now can restart your GPort again by pulling of and reconnecting the power chord. Everything is now reset to default values. You should now be able to set up your GPort via IP or via console, as described in the manual. Hope this is not too complicated, Best regards, Jan P.S.: The GPort manual may also help you (page 14), you can find it here: http://www.acceed.de/manuals/rayon/GPORT104_2%20Manual.pdf
