### 6. Installation & Setup

Requirements:
- Mounting cradle and included hardware
- Drill with 5 mm (0.2 in) bit (for wall plugs) or 3.5 mm (0.14 in) bit (without wall plugs)
- Size 1 Phillips screwdriver
- Parent ZigBee device (coordinator, router, or gateway)

Installation Steps:
1. Site Selection:
Mount the sensor at least 15 cm (6 in) away from walls or obstructions, avoiding direct sunlight, vents, heaters, or moisture sources.
2. Mounting:
Use the cradle as a template to drill holes, insert wall plugs if needed, and secure with screws. Snap the sensor into the cradle.
3. Battery Installation:
Open the battery compartment, insert two AA batteries with correct polarity, and close the cover. The LED will indicate operational status.
4. Transmission Interval Configuration:
Set DIP switches to define the desired transmission interval (1 sec to 75 min). Power cycle the device to apply changes.
5. Network Joining:
Enable “permit join” mode on the parent device. When the sensor’s green LED flashes once per second, it is ready to join. Successful joining is indicated by three green LED flashes followed by one flash every 60 seconds.
6. Verification:
Confirm data reception using the coordinator or gateway software interface.
